From Expectations to Inspiration: My Heartfelt Journey in Sri Lanka"

I traveled to Sri Lanka for a friend's wedding, which was not only my first international trip but also my first solo trip. Initially, I felt incredibly nervous about the journey, but as soon as I landed, the familiar landscape and the friendly faces around me quickly put me at ease.

Before my trip, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the country. Living in India, you often hear news about Sri Lanka's struggles with war and politics, which can create a skewed perception.I was about to go on a solo trip to a foreign land where I knew only one person—my friend, who would be busy with her wedding. What was I thinking? I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves, knowing I’d be exploring a new place on my own while she celebrated. It was a bit daunting, but I was ready to embrace the adventure ahead.

However, I soon discovered that at the grassroots level, the people are incredibly warm and welcoming, far exceeding any preconceived notions I had. I arrived with zero expectations but left with a full heart, nearly in tears as I departed. I had no idea that meeting people from a foreign land could have such a profound impact on me. This experience inspired me to write about culture and start this blog. Sri Lanka will always hold a special place in my heart.
